Newsletter – April 9th, 2026

IT… IS…ALIVE…

Happy April Everyone! Welcome to my newsletter. The first one. The original. Boy do I want these words to be way more impactful than they’re going to be. I’m sitting here, hands on the keyboard, thinking to myself…

Let’s kick this month off write. I mean right. Or do I mean write?

Maybe the first one.

A prolific author once told me that all writers never write all the stories they want. We all dream of too many worlds, and even while we are writing them more worlds appear. It’s kind of amazing.

I’m writing an interesting story now. I’ll leave this newsletter here in a moment and go start writing. Like a few of my stories, it’s urban fantasy, but with a much different slant. It’s an interesting world to me that I’ve dove into, and I’ll throw a hint out there: I’m reading some old tales about Ireland compiled into something called Lebor Gabála Érenn. Commonly called the Book of Invasions. (I’ll let you google that). The newsletter next month will include a short story from the universe, so you can get first crack at the new character, Silas Brennan.

Other than that I’ve been re-reading some of my favorite stories from Kristine Kathryn Rusch.  The Retrieval Artist series, which starts out as a detective story in a domed colony on the moon and explodes from there in book after book. There’s kidnapping, murders, detecting and… well, if you haven’t read these, the first novel is The Disappeared. As I’ve read the series multiple, multiple times, it’s a hearty recommend from me.
